About Urogynaecology Nurse Specialist

The Urogynaecology Nurse Specialist is responsible for managing the unit. Together with the urogynaecology nurse they perform their own continence advice clinics in which they provide advice and teach clean intermittent self-catheterisation and provide assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor.
They are availible to provide advice on urinary and faecal problems to the Gynaecology and Obstetrics wards and provide teaching in this specialist area to other grades of Health Care Professionals.
As part of their speciality they provide a full stoma care service including pre and post-operative counselling, siting of the stoma, advice on stoma products and follow-up care both in community and in the hospital.
