The Trust Research & Development Department manages the portfolio of research within the Trust, providing advice, support and ensuring high research governance standards. All clinical research is required to undergo independent ethics committee and R&D assessment prior to it being undertaken in the Trust, to safeguard the rights and welfare of research participants, and to ensure the conduct of high quality research.
The R&D department ensures that research studies eligible for support from the UK Clinical Research Network receive that support and that researchers have the opportunity to collaborate on studies that are added to the UK Comprehensive Research Network studies.
Research findings are disseminated locally through the regular programme of Bigger Breakfast meetings held every Friday morning. Research is also disseminated Nationally and Internationally at conferences and via peer reviewed publications.
