Critical Care - RadiologyLiverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust

Radiology provides services including routine radiological x-rays and diagnostic examinations by way of NT scans, Obstetric and Gynaecology Ultrasound, Bone Densitometry, Hystero-salpingograms and will soon undertake Hycose procedures. The workload within the department is supported by a team of dedicated Radiographers, Ultrasonographers and administrative staff who co-ordinate and schedule appointments collaboratively working within the other directorates in co-ordinating the patient pathway.

Location and Opening Hours

The Radiology department is based on the ground floor near to the ambulance entrance.The Radiology department is open 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. An on-call service is provided out of hours for emergencies.

Clinical Services - The Radiology department provides clinical services to all specialties within the trust and other organisations. This comprises of providing a service to:'

  • Antenatal Clinic
  • Wards
  • Neonates Intensive Care Unit
  • Emergency Room
  • Theatres
  • GP’s
  • Gynae-oncology
  • Urodynamics
  • Reproductive Medicine

X-Ray and Ultrasound Information

The department provides an Ultrasound/x-ray service and advice to inpatients/ outpatient and to Trust staff. A comprehensive Ultrasound/ X-Ray Information service is provided. This provides specialist advice on scans and x-rays to patients when they visit the department, should they have any queries about their treatment.
