We’re always looking at new and different ways of improving patients’ experience while in hospital. That means there’s a growing range of options for volunteers to share in. Here are just a few of the ways in which you could play a practical part in the Liverpool Women’s vital work. You could:
If you’d like to become a volunteer you’ll find a wide choice of opportunities to help in the Trust’s work. What’s more, we’re sure that you’ll find it rewarding and fulfilling for yourself.
What can volunteers do?
The Liverpool Women’s is part of the community - and the community is part of Liverpool Women’s. The benefits flow in both directions. Volunteers play an important role in that process, working alongside the hospital’s full-time staff to contribute to the care and well being of patients and extend the range of services we’re able to offer.
What does volunteering ask of you?
Besides the specific activities you participate in, there are three basic requirements. We ask that you:
- Devote 4 hours of your time each week. That allows sufficient time for your contribution to make a significant impression
- urn up punctually! You’ll be on a rota, so it’s important for you to be here when you say you will
- Attend the Trust’s 2-day induction programme, so you’re familiar with the way things work here.
Who can be a volunteer?
We’re keen to attract a wide selection of people from the community to take part in the hospital’s work. Volunteer activity is open to both men and women, however you should be aged 16 or over.
How will you benefit from being a volunteer?
You’ll gain valuable experience in working at a hospital.. You’ll enjoy the satisfaction of doing something worthwhile for the community.. You’ll keep yourself active.. You’ll develop new skills
In return the Liverpool Women’s will:
Pay your travel expenses.. Train you to carry out your role confidently and effectively.. Provide written references in acknowledgement of 100 hours’ voluntary work.. Present you with an official certificate in recognition of hours and service
