Atrium
With its natural light and spacious atmosphere, the Atrium is an ideal area for exhibitions, displays, catering and refreshments.
Maternity Room
If you require continuous monitoring throughout your labour you will have your baby on the delivery suite. The unit is situated on the 1st floor of the hospital opposite the maternity wards and the neonatal unit.
Maternity - Ensuite
The Midwifery Led Unit is a delivery / post-natal ward for low risk women who do not require continuous monitoring throughout their labour and can be found on the first floor in the Jeffcoate wing.
Maternity - Waterbirth
The calming, soothing properties of water have long been recognised. For many years midwives have encouraged women to use water during pregnancy and labour in order to gain these beneficial effects.
Gynaecology Ward 4 at University Hospital Aintree
This ward is based over at the University Hospital Aintree it consists of 17 beds and one side room.
Lecture Room
The lecture theatre features a touch screen control panel to give the speaker full control of all equipment including PC with wireless keyboard and remote mouse, VCR, DVD player, visualiser, plasma TV and lighting. Other services include video conferencing, a built-in loop induction facility and message service via an LED system for minimal disruption.
Consultation Room
Each clinic has its own routine and its own team of medical, nursing and clerical staff. During your Gynaecology Consultation you will be given the information you require on your condition and if there is a need for admission for treatment before leaving the clinic.
Operating Theatre
On the Liverpool Women's site we have eight theatres which consist of three Obstetric theatres. On the second Floor we have five gynaecology / general theatres which at present we perform Gynaecology / Oncology/Breast / Infertility & Private Patient surgery, within all specialities the provision for all patients to have a high standard of recovery care and a specialist pain service.
Radiology Department
Radiology provides services including routine radiological x-rays and diagnostic examinations by way of NT scans, Obstetric and Gynaecology Ultrasound, Bone Densitometry, Hystero-salpingograms and will soon undertake Hycose procedures.
Ward
The gynaecology ward consists of 35 beds. These are divided into 6 bedded wards and single rooms. The ward itself has been divided into 2 dedicated areas: gynae. Base 1, gynae. Base 2. Each base has its own teams of nursing staff.
The Procedure Room
This room is where the Eggs are collected and the Embryos replaced.
Infant
High dependency rooms are equipped with incubators and cots. The monitoring equipment used in these rooms can vary and is normally selected according to the individual need.
Molecular Genetics Post-PCR Analysis Laboratory
In this laboratory, DNA samples from patients are analysed using a variety of modern genetic analysis instruments including the three instruments shown here, which are capable of 'reading' the sequence of DNA molecule.
Cytogenetics Specimen Reception and Blood Culture laboratory
Patient samples for Cytogenetic investigation from hospitals throughout Cheshire and Merseyside are received in this laboratory. The equipment in this room includes incubators, centrifuges and a cabinet that provides a sterile environment for blood sample handling. The white cells in the blood are used to obtain chromosomes for the analysis of genetic diseases.
The Ultrasound Room
This room is where all patients have their treatment scans and have the opportunity to discuss their treatment with their Nurse Sonographer.
