Clinical Nurse Specialists – Acute Pain Management
The Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust currently has 2 CNS's, who specialise in acute pain management.
The CNS’s provide evidence based information and advice to all patients of the Liverpool Women’s Foundation Trust Hospital on how to cope with and manage acute pain.
Patients can be referred to the CNS’s via verbal, bleep, or telephone message from :-

- Clinic staff
- Emergency Room Staff
- Hospital Doctor
- Anaesthetists
- Pharmacy staff
- Ward nurses / midwives
They also provide evidence based information, training, and advice to all staff of the Liverpool Women’s Foundation Trust Hospital on acute pain management issues.
The CNS’s are involved with acute pain management research and audit projects to ensure the service provided is of the highest standard.
The CNS’s cover 8am-4pm Monday to Friday.
