Information for When you Go Home

Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation TrustFollowing a discussion with you when you are in hospital, your midwife will arrange transfer of your care to the community midwifery team and you can go home. If you have had a normal delivery you will be in hospital for a maximum of 24 hours but if you wish you may go home any time after 6 hours.

Prior to discharge you will be given information and a leaflet on how to access feeding support and sources of help.

If you are travelling home in a car with your new baby we strongly advise you to use a special baby car seat, or have carry cot restraints fitted to your car.

Look for the British Kitemark and label stating that the restraint meets British Standards (B.S.) or carries the European Mark (E).
