Chrionic Villus Sampling (CVS) - Explained

Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust This test involves removing a few cells from the developing afterbirth (placenta). Cells grown from this tissue can be examined to check for chromosome problems.

Reasons

You or your family has a history of a chromosome problem
You or your family may have a history of a certain inherited disorder
You have had a high risk result from combined NT screening test
